This is a Book (shh, grow, quiet, carry)

Here is a completed book.  As I am a book arts student, it is only natural that I sometimes return to the codex for inspiration. Natural, but not necessary (I might not do this again). The content of the pages are less stream of consciousness than the ongoing Oven Mitt of Feelings, but are nonetheless directly related to my experience creating art.  A little bit of a book of mantras and their backsides.

Walking around the Antique Store?

So far, I've been working with these images and type from the antique store. Last semester, I attempted to cut through a couple books to get the feeling of walking through the store while flipping through a book. That sort of worked, but my paper engineering was questionable at best. If I can't walk through the store in this form, then why not walk around it? This is an idea I want to play with.

I'm using a combination of silhouettes from the first semester and this semester of seminar to form my structure. This is a rough idea of how the images are ordered.

Animation Update Part 2

I have added all the parts of the map to the animation. Still a bit chunky but I plan on adding more frames or finding another method/way to make the animation run more smoothly.

Dress 1/15 part 3

LETS MAKE A BELT AND SLEEVES.

I cut out and hemmed the midriff.

Then attached it to the dress, leaving a little bit of extra on one side.

That extra fabric gets gathered into a bow, wrapped in ribbon, and turned into a snap.

Added a little loop and button clasp at the top of the back.

I measured, hemmed, and gathered the sleeves before sewing them around the arm-holes of the dress, and with that we have our final element and I can stop dealing with this 3 part nightmare post and try to make shorter posts that aren't written like rushed tutorials.

THE END.

Trying to document more
