Thoughts...
January 27, 2022
While taking these walks with my dog throughout the day and seasons, I am starting to observe our world, here in beverly. Observing people and their conversations and how they dress. How much trash is on the streets and no one seems to care to pick it up and how nature changes along with the seasons. Having thoughts and conversations with myself in my head. Sometimes I think too much in my head and never speak enough outloud. And Gus will be barking at everyone who walks by. Just common things people do while they are on a walk with their dog. What I want to do is take photographs, capturing moments in time while walking my dog. Maybe those are other dogs, other people. But I want to capture things that people wouldn't usually see or think of.

Altered photography has been around since technology allowed artists to make changes to their work. It has been the tool to successfully alter anything you want to get the message across to the viewer.I would like to take photographs of faces, perhaps mine or other people. I would study both color and black and white. maybe some elements of portraits and distort them in some way. The color alters the meaning. Although I don't know what my subjects will be, I want to combine photography with graphic art.

Taking photographs allows you to show people what you see. Faces have been how we identify people since for all of human history. If we didn't have faces how would we recognize anyone? Everyone gets their face from DNA, their genetic history, Which makes me wonder as someone adopted makes me wonder where did my face come from. Altering photographs gives people a different and abstract perspective on identity.
