Dress 2/15 part 2

When we last left our hero (me), they had just completed the bodice and midriff of this over complicated pinterest posters dream child, meaning it's time to move on to the five (5) layers of massive Cinderellian skirt, and the 91 inches of gathered tulle ruffles therein.

Let's start by gathering and sewing the nice, non-threatening lining of the skirt.

There, this seems reasonable right?

Wrong. Broken needle count: 1

After laying out all four other layers of the skirt, all that's left is to gather all 91 inches into a reasonable 30" and add the layers to the skirt.
Like this one!
And another one.
And. Another one.
Now a quick "break" to cut out two hundred and thirty inches of four inch wide tulle.
Then to take all that tulle, gather it to the previously established 91 inches.
Then fold it in half horizontally and attach it to the hem of the outer most skirt layer. With, you guessed it, more of that really tiny thin ribbon I've cursed myself with for some reason.

Now, at about 2 in the morning, the final layer of the skirt is completed, and they can all be sewn together while quietly praying to the needle gods that the machine can handle it.

It can't. Broken needle count: 3

We'll be back after this short six allotted hours of nightly rest, also known as "most of my free time."
